Frequently Asked Questions

Who are you?

We are a "non-paid" musical theatre company based in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England.

What do you do?

We stage two musicals a year at the Loughborough Town Hall Theatre, one in May/June and the other in October/November. We will tackle any kind of musical, from traditional to contemporary, although we have made a name for ourselves in relishing a challenge of any sort!

All of our members are in the cast - we have no 'non-acting' members as such, although we do have a regular team of people who we can call upon during the run up to the show and the show itself to look after our sound, lighting, costumes, set, etc.

What is the age range of your membership?

All ages will be considered, as there are no official age limits, however, potential members must bear in mind that we are an adult company, although we have had people as young as 14 in our casts.

When do you rehearse?

Our main rehearsal night is Monday, from 7:00pm, however, as productions draw near the rehearsals may be called early. Also, additional rehearsals may be called on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

Where do you rehearse?

Our main rehearsal room is at the United Reform Church on Frederick Street in Loughborough, although when this is not available, we have been known to use Loughborough Parish Church or various rooms at Loughborough University.

I want to become a member. What do I do?

All potential members must audition in front of a small panel of three or four. This can consist of anything you would like to show us - a dance, a song, a dramatic reading or any combination of the above. You can provide us with a tape or a CD to dance or sing to, or if you prefer, piano accompaniment is available for singers (as long as you provide sheet music!) We usually audition potential members in two lots of open auditions the week after each show has closed, although don't hesitate to contact us at any time - you might be just what we've been looking for! To arrange your audition, you can email us here, or phone Jonathan Orton on (0115) 956 8410 or Shane Perry on (01509) 821 820.
